I Am Not Ashamed

I am not ashamed for what I believe. I don’t have to apologize to anyone for it. I am misunderstood many times, but it is only because of others perceptions about Christianity that aren’t true. What is real Christianity? There are many who proclaim to know, but they don’t all believe the same things. Why is this so? Why does it cause so much confusion? I Am Not Ashamed!
Paul writes about this. Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
Then Paul goes on in verse 18, The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Does God still love those who hate and despise Him? The answer is absolutely yes. Can they change and come out of it? Yes! Check out the story of Nebuchadnezzar. The Lord doesn’t want anyone to be hurt, but He gives us each a choice. We can follow after Him or go the way that separates us from Him. God is life, love, peace, grace, mercy, and more. What do you think is the opposite? Doesn’t it stand to reason that if we are not with Him, we will experience the opposite?
We live in a mostly godless world where mankind praises its own achievements rather that the God who created them. We have a strong push by certain groups that want us to believe the universe came into being by accident, wasn’t planned and that somehow we evolved over the centuries into such a marvelously, intricately designed being. What rubbish! What they don’t tell us is how often they have to change their theories and beliefs when science proves them wrong. Some of these people have high degrees and they would like us to worship the ground they walk on. I think not. I am not that foolish.
In my ignorance, I followed after the ways of the world. I believed the things I was taught in school and by others who didn’t know any better. But then, one day, I found the truth. I found love. The emptiness inside of my heart was filled with His love and for the first time I felt joy and peace. I knew that I was loved and I found a sense of destiny. My life changed and it only took making a better choice. You can too.
So what about Christianity. Christianity is not a religion, in my opinion. It is based on a real relationship with the Lord and not on someone else’s ideas and belief. I can’t live my life on someone else’s convictions and beliefs and I won’t do it. I also will not try to be politically correct. If an object is red, why would I want to be politically correct to call it blue. This insults my intelligence. If the thing is red, let’s call it red. If the thing being done is wrong, then it is wrong. Why lie?
I live my life by walking with Jesus Christ. I know Him and He knows me. The Bible, to me, is life and not just a history book or just some words on a page. Through His Spirit, I hear His voice. By Him touching my heart, I can feel the way He does about certain things. There are many things that I do not know and that is fine. There are some things I don’t do that I should do and I am working on these areas. I am not perfect and that is all right with Him since He already knew that anyway and still called me to Himself. It’s not about me, but rather it is about Him. He is the reason. He is worthy of my praise and glory. He created each of us with a purpose and destiny. Our lives will only be fulfilled when we are doing the very thing that we were created to do and be.
There are those of us who have tried to change for years. We’ve struggled and struggled with no real sense of victory, so in the end, we reckon that this is our lot. It isn’t. Through Christ all things are possible. Through His power and grace we can overcome. We can have a better life. We can change and be the person we were meant to be. Find out who this God really is. Find out how much He really cares for you. Become a part of His family. You will never be alone again, for He is always with us. There is a lot of freedom in the Lord. We are not bound up in the traditions of men and their laws, but rather we are free to live in the Spirit of Life. It is kind of like the difference between a caterpillar and a butterfly. The caterpillar is bound to the earth and gravity, but the butterfly floats up high above the things that held it down and it is now free. Life supersedes everything else on this earth.
Write to me if you have any questions. Read some of my other blogs. Buy a Bible: New International Version, New American Standard, Amplified, or even New King James and ask the Lord to help you understand His word and who He is. If you can’t afford one or want something online go to BibleGateway.com. This is a journey. Don’t let anyone make you settle for less than the best. He gave His best for us. Should we do any less? Have a wonderful day.
This blog has been viewed in over 44 countries now and also read in many different languages. The Google translator is a very good thing. I am not sure how accurate it translates, but it is good to know that language is not a barrier. I am grateful to each of you who have replied on how one of my posts has made a difference in your life. I know there are others who don’t write and that is all right. I pray that this work has been a blessing and I thank the Lord for giving me the words to write. Some of you have written to me about specific issues and needs of prayer. I am honored. Please know that we do pray for everyone who reads this web site. We want only the best for you. There are many that we may never meet on this earth, but we look forward to seeing you in eternity. We are family and we can encourage each other everyday. Encourage those around you. Make a difference in their lives. Who knows, your worst enemy today may become your best friend tomorrow. People need to see His love. They need to feel His touch and they need to hear His words of truth. Keep on keeping on.
