Church & State
October 16th, 2008 at 8:03 am (Prophetic)
There has been some news lately about separation of church and state. People talk about how we need to keep the church out of the government. I am guessing that they are referring to keeping the religious leaders from imposing their authority on government leaders. Other than this, I can’t see why we would want to keep moral values and truth out of the government. IF we do this, we end up with pure chaos. Separation of Church & State!
Our country was founded because of the tyranny of other governments. They had become so corrupt that they ruled and governed in every area of their private lives. Our forefathers wanted a government that would be able to protect its people, but would be limited in its power. They wanted freedom. Are we free? With every new law that gets passed that is supposed to protect us, we lose more of our freedom.
I was talking to a lady from Australia about a year ago. Her comment to me was, “you Americans think you are free, but you’re not.” She went on to say that we have more rules and regulations than Australia. Have we been lulled to sleep? What are we willing to lose from our rights for someone else to protect us? Now our government is getting bigger and into private companies. Where do they stop? There are cameras everywhere. The stage is being set.
Greed, pride, and power have gotten us into the mess we are in now. We have two people running for president and they are both telling lies. There is a lot of talk and I hear it every election. After the second debate, their facts were checked and some of them weren’t true. How long will we let our government and politicians lie to us? How long will we lie to each other? Where is the accountability? We know the news media are biased, so I doubt that we will get the real truth about a story. Of course, if they do report the truth, how do we know it is the truth.
Change is coming. We are seeing it and the whole world is the stage. It is a dangerous time and yet a great time to be alive. The Lord hears the cries of the beaten, the torn, the battered, the destitute, the lonely, etc. The world has its answers and the Lord has His.
Revelation 18:2, 11-13 With a mighty voice he shouted: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes any more—cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and bodies and souls of men.
It is interesting that the bodies and souls of men were also being sold. What is Babylon? Who are the merchants? What have we seen lately? Does this give us some idea of what is coming? Sometimes I think we need to stand back and assess the situation. Where are we headed? Do we really want to go that way or to do that? I believe that Babylon is a system. It is nothing new and has been around for centuries. It is a way of doing things contrary to the ways of the Lord. You probably already know this, but I just want to share a little tidbit. Isn’t it interesting that the world’s system knows you as a number, when the Lord knows your name? He knows us by name and He knows the number of hairs on our heads. He also knows our secrets, our hurts, our dreams, and who we are on the inside. Who would you rather serve?
As we go through this global crisis and election, I am standing back and watching. I am not interested in the facades that are being shouted to me everyday from the TV, radio and internet. I am more interested in watching the moves of those behind the scenes. Who has the most to gain from a change that is being made. I am not putting any faith in leaders right now. Most of them have no clue where they are going. They only have theories. If I were to only look at these things I would probably cower in fear and depression, but I know the Lord has a plan and a purpose and He is still on the throne. If He can use a donkey to speak to His prophet, and if He can raise up an ungodly king like Cyrus to help His people, I am convinced He can get us through anything. My work is to walk with the Lord and do what He tells me to do. It is also to pray that He makes the changes we need to live better lives. I pray that the hearts of our leaders would be turned for good and that we might be able to live peaceably with one another no matter who becomes our next leaders.
I am at peace. I am convinced that the Lord loves me and that no matter what happens to me, He will keep me and my family. I know Him and have walked with Him for a long time. Do you have peace or do you worry? Are you depressed or afraid? Are you alone and need a friend? If this is you, why not find out who the Lord Jesus Christ is? All you have to do is ask Him. Talk to Him. He is real. He is a person. You have to be willing to let go of your pride and humble yourself. Find a bible such as the New International Version or New American Standard and ask Him to help you understand it. Read my other posts about walking with the Lord. Find the truth and you won’t be swayed by others lies. Not everything is as it seems. Wake up. See beyond the illusion and live in the light. Let your life become new and fresh. Start enjoying the things around you. If you can see the sunrise or sunset, remember it was painted just for you. If you hear the sound of birds, enjoy their praises to their God. Feel the gentle breeze blow through your hair and feel the touch of the Lord. Hear the bubbling water in a creek, the thunderous waves of the ocean, or the splashing of a water fall. Experience nature and let your soul come to rest.

With this recent election a lot of questions have risen between a friend and I…
Issues on Gay marriage, Abortion, policies and candidates…
Now there are problems between us, but I love her so much, as if she were my own sister. I can’t change her mind, I can’t make her tolerate me, I can’t ask her to accept my views… according to her she can’t tolerate the intolerant. Yet Im not against gay rights, just marriage…
Can we still be friends?
It hurts, and I don’t know what to do. I can’t apologize for who I am.
This is me.
I believe in Jesus, I believe that marriage is holy between a woman and a man.
I believe that these are truths… not just political stances.
If she can’t accept me, should I even try?
All I can do now is just pray.
But I need your advice… please.
