Habitual Sin

How does one overcome habitual sin? It’s the kind of sin that a person falls into over and over again no matter how hard they try to overcome. Some sin is easy to look away from or to get away from, but habitual sin is so ingrained that it has become a natural response. How can we break its hold? Overcoming Habitual Sin!

From Glory To Glory

My wife and I were talking the other day about this topic. Sometimes, it feels like we are getting further away from the Lord if we are not experiencing certain things. For instance, in 1994 we were with a fellowship that was experiencing the move of God. The glory and anointing of the Lord was so strong there were times we couldn’t even stand in His presence. As we were talking, it seemed like we had lost this. From Glory to Glory!

In A World Of Hate

What do we do when we live in a world of hate? How do we go the way we know we should? What do we do when something bad happens to us or to someone we love? What do we do when a spouse or child turns on us? What do we do? In A World Of Hate!

Be Encouraged

I’ve just had one of those crazy weeks, too many things to do and not enough time to do them in. In the middle of it, I got sick. What do you do? Rest! I didn’t realize that the stress had come upon me and was weighing me down. I had a focus and knew what I needed to do, so that wasn’t causing the stress. The stress was actually coming from fear that I didn’t even know existed. Be Encouraged!

Christian Marriage - 2

If you haven’t read Part 1, please do so. This is mainly a continuation of that post. How do two separate individuals find a common ground to build the foundation of their marriage? This is a good thing, at least if we allow this time to acknowledge them and ask the Lord to help and heal us. The neat thing about marriage is that we don’t have to go through these weak times alone. We have a partner that understands and is willing to walk with us and pray for us. Marriage is a wonderful thing. The scriptures say, “blessed is the man who finds a wife.” I agree. Christian Mariage - Part 2!

Christian Marriage

Part I

It isn’t necessarily about being the right person either.  A lot depends on what is brought into the marriage and what expectations are placed on the other partner. Christian Marriage!

Father’s Heart

I was asking the Lord what He wanted me to write about today and He said, “My heart.” We hear so much about what to do and how to do it that I wonder if we stop and consider what matters to Him. What is the Lord’s heart like? How does He feel about us and the world we live in? There are a lot of angry people who throw up their fists towards heaven when things go wrong and there’s also the cursing that goes along with it. Father’s Heart!

Failure - Shame

Sometimes failure is easier to overcome than the shame that is involved with it. There have been failures in my life that brought me shame. If it wouldn’t have been for the shame, I could have simply got up and walked on. But the shame kept me in this loop of not looking at the situation so that I could deal with it and move on. Failure - Shame!
